Parvin Ardalan, one of the most well-known women activists, was sentenced to 2 years suspended imprisonment by the

Revolutionary Court

.

 

This verdict dated back to her arrest in march 2007 aginst the

Revolutionery Court

. According to the judgment of 13th branch of the

Revolutionery Court

, her imprisonment will be suspended until 3 years, and if she committees a crime, this sentence will be performed. her accusation is “illegal assembly” and “refusing to comply with police orders with the aim of disrupting national security”.

 

Ardalan, who recently won the prestigious Swedish 2007 Olaf Palme award , barred from leaving the country, when she was going to

Sweden for getting her prize in March 2008.

 

In similar case, Ms Rezvan Moghadam, one of the other women activist was sentenced to a three-year suspended prison term.
