Arman Sedaghati, the member of the central council of Islamic Association of the Polytechnic university students, was sentence to 2 years suspended imprisonment.

 

Following the telephone conversation on 17th of April he was called to the revolutionary court and asked him to go there as soon as possible. But despite the attendance of the lawyer and legal proceeding of investigation, he received this verdict. In addition the court refused his request to give more time and study his case.

 

His accusation refers to attendance and speeches in the student’s demonstration at the faculty of Social Science of the Alame Tabatabaei University on 29 October 2007. Following that Demonstration he, together with two other students, Maziar Samiei and Behnam Sepehrmand, were arrested and spent 10 day in solitary confinement of the Evin prison.

 

It is worth of appreciation that Pedram Rafaati, another Polytechnic university, also was called to revolutionary court. He, as Arman Sedaghati was arrested following the mentioned demonstration and spent 20 days in Evin Prison.
